Once again, I'm delivering old news.

I just found this today by chance, despite it apparently being on Youtube since May 29th.

Gimme a feelin'

First thoughts?

I think it's a great track, though I have a couple of nitpicks with it.

Firstly, the lyrics. They're not exactly thought provoking, even by Ace's lyrical standards these are a bit dry. Maybe I've just been spoiled by Steely Dan.

Secondly, riffs and solos. It almost sounds like Ace is trying to parody himself. His signature licks are what make his tracks so great, but I think he might be overdoing it here, ala Zakk Wylde and his pinch harmonics + wah/chorus.

Overall, it's still a great song, and I can't wait to hear the rest of the album (especially his cover of Steve Miller's 'The Joker')

Also, apparently the track listing is already out, or has been leaked, along with the album artwork.

1.Give It To Me
2. The Joker
3. Time Waits For No One
4. Space Invader
5. Inside the Vortex
6. Gimme a Feelin’
7. Change
8. Reckless
9. Toys
10. Immortal Pleasures

Ace is still bringing it. If you close your eyes it sounds like Old KISS.

Well shit, I've already played it over 30 times according to iTunes.

The song has really grown on me since I discovered it!

If the rest of the album is anything like this then I think it could be a contender for my personal 'album of the year', which is currently Black Label Society's 'Catacombs of the Black Vatican' :D
