It also looks like there's a Gibson Custom Shop logo on the pot cover on the rear of the guitar.

That isn't a Custom Shop logo, it is a sticker that almost all counterfeits seem to have. It is a dead giveaway that a guitar is fake.

Sadly, that's about how frequently they pop up on CL around here (I'm in MA too).



I doubt it....there's at least two guys here in MA that continually put up different "copies" on a regular basis....this fellow (linked in OP) is the worst. All of his listings are worded similarly. He always posts that he has some luthier in Boston set them up, like that will make it more of a bargain, or make it more "real" or something...

There's another guy who puts 'em up, always saying he wants to keep the tuners, or bridge/tailpiece...I'm convinced it's because he doesn't want it in any playable condition when/if you go to look at it.

Reported it. It def.ly is a chinese copy. I know it from the label on the back cover, seen so many fake Gibson videos I should be paranoid for now.

Remember the cream "Randy Rhodes" one from last month in Douglas? Guy wanted $500 for it, and wanted to keep the tuners, but then said he'd sell the tuners seperately for $125? Haven't seen it listed in a couple weeks...

Insane! Funny because I was just looking at this before I checked here haha. I can't believe these people. I sent a message to Gibson, asking if they actually check the reports on fakes. Like I said before, I would hate to see a kid think its real and waste his money.

I once sent a link of a counterfeit to Gibson a year or two ago. It seemed to me they didn't care.

I sent the Gibson mic guy an email. I simply asked if Gibson makes guitars in china. Can't wait for the response. He should be arrested for selling counterfeits and for Internet fraud.

Wow, bullshit. I hate people trying to make hundreds extra off a $200 guitar tops. It's a epiphone body and parts basicly. Gibson Les Paul Ace Frehley Black Copy

I'll take the blame/credit for that one. Credit as in, you're welcome (for the thanks above), blame, as in, as soon as it hit CL, the Ace guitar listing VANISHED, and I see the Rhodes cream MIC listing is now also gone, meaning Gibson doesn't have the listings anymore to check out.
