I always saw the Supreme as a fancy type of Custom even though they are Gibson USA models. I wanted one but wasn't sure which finish I wanted. There are so many of them. When I saw the opportunity to grab this white burst, I jumped. Just wanted to share it. Enjoy the pics.

Have they made those for a while? I swear my friend had one just like that in the early 90s. Or at least a finish like that….

I always thought natural looked better than white for customs. This looks better than plain white though for sure. It looks like there is really nice wood grain so it would have been nice to see even more of it. Sort of like a white washed natural finish.

It’s like Gibson’s answer to the Mary Kaye Stratocaster. Very nice. I’m partial to that finish, I have two AVRI Telecasters that have a white burst over ash. It’s hard to see but the white is solid on the edges.

Wow this Supreme out of a JCM800 and a SD1 sounds incredible. This guitar confuses the distinction between Gibson USA guitars and Gibson Custom Shop guitars. It shows that some guitars are just made well whether they are Custom Shop or Gibson USA. You have to play them to find out.

I'm not exactly sure when they stopped making them but it's been many years. The first year for them was 2003 I think. If your friend had a white burst in the 90s, it was probably something different.

Probably then…it was that same type of finish but I can’t remember if it was a Standard or a Custom. I didn’t know anything about guitars at the time. I just remember it was nice looking.

I don't think Supremes fall in the same category as those others. The other ones are super expensive Custom Shop guitars. Supremes were Gibson USA releases. They were probably way less expensive at retail than an Ultima.
