Phil, thank you for the words of wisdom in the post.

Every day, I'm thankful that my Dad taught me what John Wayne said:

"Life is tough. It's tougher if you're stupid."

Bottom line - don't be stupid. Whatever feather of a good reason you might think you have to do drugs is far outweighed by the crushing stone of bad reasons.

Sounds as if you have a very sensible dad Rock. :dude:

:laugh2::laugh2:Not in this thread...but I have a lot of stories about surviving my own drug and alcohol fueled stupidity. Like many folks here, I'm fortunate to be alive.

Go ahead KSG. I'd like to hear it.. Hey I'm the first person to highjack my own threads anyway. :laugh2:
Nothing like broadening the conversation .

 Everyone knows that was simply all a play act. A sort of comedy cabaret duo for entertainment.
Why it worked, was simply because we said things to eachother that many would like to have said to others , but refrained from doing so. :laugh2:

I
know
that, Phil.

Vasco knows that, Phil.

Most of us Brits know that too, Phil.

It seemed to be just the Americans who were unsure..... and the new Mussolini.

Now get back to telling us about guitars and gigs, transits and greasy spoons, stages the size of a TV stand and dressing rooms that stank of pee and sweat and fish and chips..... we youngsters have much to learn from you old hands - and it's bloody entertaining too.

A rule very near the top of the pecking order:
If the Manager of a club you are playing at is a known criminal/gangster, never ever, ever, let your singer shag a girl in the dressing room just as you are about to go on. Your singer will invariably tell you give him a few minutes, while the Manager will threaten to rip all your necks off if you don't go on in time. Oh yes!!!

Here's a clue. 6 letters, beginning with 'G' and ending with 'Z'...

Nah, can't be Godzilla, that doesn't end in z.

Hold on wait a minute, I think I've got it... You mean Grumpz?

I didn't know he was Italian. I thought he was simply a Geordie wanker. :laugh2:

I
recall
getting out of the
3-tonner after the drive to a gig at Dunstable Civic thingy.....

Gary's road-boss Zara had put a sofa in the back, and we plebs wedged it across the back behind the tail lift and sat there roaring up the M1 watching the dusk come down and smoking a few. When we got to the other end and jumped out onto terra-firma ready to unload, we nearly fell over - the bloody scenery continued to move! Apparently it's called something posh, this illusion - we just thought Morocco had gone heavy on the THC. Newcastle Brown sorted it out. But we were younger and stronger then.....
