In November , my wife went behind my back and ordered something for me . She said I was going to love it ... Well I get home one Friday night in November and there is a gift wrapped box about 14 inches long and 4 inches wide ( I know what you are thinking ,,,stop ! ) . She said I was going to like it .
I open it up and Its a light box with a slide top . It was A Guitar strap from a company Called Revo. Its Mahogany . I didnt do a good job of Disguising my displeasure and The Moment I pulled it out , I said nothing and she immediately saw it on my face. Gentlemen and ladies of MLP.,,,,,,, A guitar strap is personal . You just dont shop for a strap and say “here you go “ .. It has two High test strings that run the length Of the strap .. I told her I cant use it on my Les Pauls Because I use Strap Locks ,but I would Use it out on my Taylor when I play live the next time .. that would hold me off for a while but she kept asking me when I was going to use it when I went off for Rehearsal . Well that time is NOW ,, we play this Saturday for the first time in Summerville . So I Installed it on my Taylor . It was a fight to get that hard Leather button hole open ,but with some help from the other guitar player , I made it happen. And I gotta tell you ,, its pretty dang nice . I texted the Revo page and got the OWNER of Revo and he was pretty cool . This strap is tested for up to two hundred lbs of pressure . He said he would take it back because he didnt like any dissatified customers . That is service , so I m keeping it ,,here is a picture of it on my fat ass ! Its is surprisingly really a comfortable strap ... one more thing .. I about hit the roof when she told me she spent $ 89.00 for a strap !!!!!!!!! That part I don’t appreciate . I can get three Comfort Brand Straps for that price that will last me 8 years each . .. read that again,,,, 89.00 !!!! Do any of you use the Revo brand straps ? Any negatives ( other than 89.00) Overlook my fat ass,,, I m working on that .. two weeks in on a diet and I could munch on this strap right now !

Nice strap. So the "high test strings" route through the mahogany pieces? Interesting design.

I like it. Definitely seems more an acoustic strap. but the right natural finish electric might play well with it also

It's a beautiful strap. And really, what a nice wifey to gift it to you! Something that is practical, unique, tasteful and might even help her feel more involved with your musical life. Kudos to her you lucky guy. And yea, I've spent that much, maybe more om a highly tooled leather strap ($35 in 1977).

It takes a LOT for me to get excited about a strap. I thought I had used them all, but...

That is badass.

I wonder how much a Brazilian rosewood one would cost?

It looks pretty cool. Congrats.

I looked up their website. Incredible workmanship! I've never before seen a strap made from wood before.

Incredibly unique and very cool strap. I'm sure you will come to appreciate it in time as people tell you how cool it is every time they see it for the first time. I think using it with an acoustic is the right move - lighter weight and less risk. Nothing crazy about the price either for something that is handcrafted like that.
