I'm contemplating the purchase of a new guitar but not sure what I should be looking at. I'm looking to expand my collection to 2 guitars :laugh2: I currently own an epiphone les paul ultra II. I am looking to purchase a CHEAP gibson, what model would you guys suggest? I am considering buying used all though a new would be my preference. I don't plan to spend more than 1.5 grand. Post em up

I've seen several used standards and classics in the 15k range. (one that I'm kicking myself in the ass for not getting!) You could also get a decent S-G for a little less. I myself am saving for a new (07-08) standard.

Save up a bit more and buy a used '57 or '58 Les Paul reissue. A bit more than the price you listed but probably not as much as you think. Best guitars our there for the money.
