Was actually a funny movie. Needed some editing imo, it was about 15-20 minutes too long. Some scenes easily could've been cut out. And watching this trailer I see scenes that weren't in the movie, (the funeral, the hot air balloon.)

But it was a funny movie and I laughed out loud a few times. In the trailer the, "that went south so fast!" part cracked me up when it happened.

Story was (sorta) typical western story,...good guy bad guy,...showdown,...etc.

But there was some really funny moments, and some of Seths rants were pretty funny.

Kinda had that ridiculous and offensive 'Blazing Saddles' kind of vibe to it which was interesting. I've definitely not seen a movie that reminded me of Blazing Saddles,.....ever.

If you're looking to kill an afternoon and laugh a bit, (and enjoy the loveliness that is Charlene Theron) it's worth watching. But you have to be in the mood for a silly western comedy.

....there is one scene involving a flower and a bare ass that reminded me of Cookie-Boy. :laugh2:

Some funny cameos too.

...except for the 10 second little bit with Gilbert Godfrey. That scene totally should've been edited out. That guy is just not funny. His entire career is an enigma to me,...I've never heard anyone say anything about him other then he's extremely annoying and has a voice like nails on a chalkboard. How does he get work?

I could understand the Joan Rivers thread people think she's not funny,....I actually do. But I can see easily how her humor is 50/50. But Gilbert? I've literally never heard anyone ever say he's funny or anything other then extremely annoying.

That was the only scene in the movie that just couldn't end fast enough for me. As soon as I saw his face I  ...then the voice starts....

"Nasal whine nasal whine nasal whiiiiiiiiinnnneee"

But other then Gilbert and the inexplicable 'sheep penis' scenes (there were 2),....it was a funny movie.

..and I thought Sarah Silverman as the town whore was pretty funny.

There were a lot of good scenes actually, but the movie definitely needed some tighter editing as it ran close to 2 hours and I think would've worked as a better comedy vehicle if it was more streamlined.

...oh,...and the Bar Fight scene is one of the best Western bar fights I ever saw in a movie. People were getting limbs snapped and shanked in the neck with broken bottles,...it was pretty excessive. :laugh2: :applause:

I liked that movie as well, lots of funny scenes, but I couldn't get over what a terrible actor Macfarlane is. I think the whole movie could have been ten times better with a descent lead actor.

I was surprised what a physical actor he is though, unless they CGI'd his face or something,..most times when he hit the ground there was no editing I noticed.

Where I noticed Charlene was edited in many scenes, I'm surprised when she walked down a step there weren't 5 edits with lookalike stunt women. :laugh2:

I liked Seths rants though, "everything that's out here that isn't you? is trying to kill you! even the doctor is trying to kill you!"

or when his best friend finally got to see a va-jay-jay,...."are you in pain right now?" :laugh2:

Haven't seen it yet but am looking forward to it. I love chaos, comical violence, and of course satire. I have the feeling that this could be in my wheelhouse.

forgot to mention, it has a couple cameos,...but it has one SERIOUSLY COOL CAMEO that made me break out in a giant grin and say, "Great Scott!" ;)

Does anybody know if this movie is on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Cable on demand, or anywhere that I san see it now? I missed it at the theaters, and would like to see it on a day like today, when I don't feel very intellectual.

Just now finished watching it. Pretty good. The bits with Doc and Django were hilarious, but watching Ryan Gosling take a bullet was the best of the lot. :laugh2:

Believe it or not, Gilbert Gotlieb was in American Grafitti.

He yell's out of a passing car, "Toad, where'd you get that beautiful car?" As Toad is cruising in Ritchie's '58 Chevy.

I liked it, I'm a fan of McFarlane so i knew it would be enjoyable, albeit a far cry from perfect i think your observations about it's flaws are spot on.

And what's not to love about Charlize, I know Fracture will agree with me on that
