Sorry I missed the bit about why you can't play a Les Paul up high....?

My Les Paul "Axcess" comes with a Belly Cut and a thinner body than all my other Les Pauls..

You have painted yourself into a corner on this.
I own three Les Pauls:

R8
P90 Tribute
Custom Lite

and....

SG Standard

and....

a Baja Tele

and a Gretsch hollow body.

Plenty variation in body thickness.

The SG pickups are located different distances from the nut- which accounts for most of the tonal variation.

But I don’t buy that body thickness attributes much to tone in general.

if I posted clips of all my Gibsons- listeners will hear a difference. But they won’t be able to reliably guess which is which... even with the SG in the mix.

Maybe a Yamaha Revstar? It comes with a 'gut-cut'. I get you why a lot of Les Pauls would be uncomfortable strapped high. The hard ridge on the back of say a Custom would dig right into the ribs.
