EDIT: See post #28 for a video from the show.
We played the Hawthorne Theater in Portland last night. This was my Styxperience band, a Styx tribute act. We split the bill with a Heart tribute and a Fleetwod Mac tribute (thus their banners).
John, the guitar player on the left, plays an LP Studio. He sings the Tommy Shaw vocals, too. That's me in the middle. I sing the Dennis Deyoung vocals and (obvious from the photo) play bass in this band.
It was fun. The stage was loud, and the venue acoustics aren't great. It made for difficult monitoring situation, but I've played much worse so we got through it AOK. This was only our second gig and I'm SHOCKED by the number of screams and applause I get when I sing Dennis Deyoung's ballads. Suite Madame Blue and Come Sail Away, for example. Every dramatic line or high note had people going nuts. Very cool! I never get that kind of appreciation in my other cover bands.
