On the 1st of this month I interviewed for a new job with my employer.
Later that evening, my landlord knocked on my door to tell me I've got about 30 days or so to vacate the premises, because they've decided to demolish the building.

Well....I got the job, and just signed a lease on a new place, so it's gonna be like a whole new life soon.

I've been in my apartment for 10 years, and I've spent 20 years in the same building doing practically the same job, which will end this morning after a very short shift.

It feels kind of weird for it all to be happening at once, but when you get to the point to where your life is like the movie Groundhog Day, any change is welcome.

I guess the cardinal gets to live.:D

Thanks guys!

The job thing has been brewing for a while....the apartment thing came out of the blue, although oddly enough I'd been wondering how much longer they were going to try to maintain the building.
I've been the only tenant for at least 5 or 6 years now.
The building definitely has issues. My landlord is and always has been great to me.
He feels bad about how things have happened.
His insurance company has deemed the building uninsurable as a dwelling, and his policy is up at the end of the month. He's retired, and it's been nickle and diming him to death, so......that's just how stuff goes sometimes.

I found a new place that will be pretty decent I hope, but since I'm gonna have to deal with neighbors I ain't gonna be able to rock out 24/7 at will anymore.
Oh well....that's what acoustics and headphones are for, right?

It'll be the first place I've lived in years that doesn't have stairs (Yay for not lugging stuff up and down those suckers!!), and it's barely over a mile from work.
Hell.....that's just a short hike.:thumb:

Now, all I gotta do is figure out how to drive a Zamboni.:D

Sounds like your life is in a great place. Do not underestimate that short commute: that is freaking HUGE. No sitting in the car, $$ on gas, home for lunch. Get a old beater bicycle that no 16 year old thief would want and you're golden.

Funny that things will stay the same for years, then suddenly everything changes all at once. Good luck, meat. It's what you make of it. Change is good.
