Second workout back since my hard work season ended. I'm taking it easy and trying to slide into it. I was sore but not wrecked after the first one. Tomorrow may be a little rough but it's a Sunday so I got that going. The good news is I dropped twelve lbs in two months. Bad news is I gotta lift for a month and a half to get back to where I left off.

i hit the gym yesterday and today for the first time in a couple years (had been running and cycling regularly until a few months ago where I broke my back) and I'm sore as a MFer, I don't think I could rub one out even if you put a gun to my head.

Ok so I’ve been doing DDP Yoga (yes! Diamond Dallas Page) for about 15 weeks now.

I’m overweight (6’ and 243lbs) but my goal has not been to lose weight. You need to change your eating habits to do that and I’m not quite there yet. :)

My actual goal is to build a bit of muscle and get in better shape overall. When I started, I basically had no muscle.

It’s taken a bit but I started to see results in about 3-4 weeks and now, 15 weeks later (43 workouts or something), I can actually see some muscle when I look in the mirror.

I’m not swole at all and I haven’t lost much weight (maybe 10lbs all in) but I have more energy and I am more likely to do things which require some effort than I was before.

I will eventually change my diet (not drastically) and will lose the fat but right now I’m spending time on strengthening my whole body. Most people are surprised I’m 243...I carry it all in the beer belly and even that is sort of camouflaged when I’m at work in my properly fitting clothes haha.

DDP has been good to me and I will keep going with it. I am finally at the point where I feel guilty for missing a workout and I go and do it ASAP. Never thought I would see the day hahaha!

Loving 6 day a week upper/lower body workouts.
Oh the extremes we go to because the girls on the beach need eye candy too. :D

why wait? I want to give it to them at the gym. But I don't have any tribal tattoos, so I keep my sleeves on.

One of the many, many pluses of having gotten rid of the chief is that his temporary replacement allows us to workout on duty up to one hour at the .gov gym.

I’m one of the very few who take advantage of it, but I never waste an opportunity to get paid to lift weights.

First run of the year. Man that felt good to get outside. I only do short distances usually - 5km-8km depending how I'm feeling. I started off with 4.7km. I'll be paying for it for the next few days I think but it's good to be back out there again.

Not really new on my side of things, but I've been on a combination of resuming working out again (from hitting the weights again at the gym, resuming Taekwondo training when I can, etc) and changing up a few things with my diet- mainly ramping up a caloric deficit and keeping up with intake for protein.
I've been at it since last fall, give or take, and I'm down at least 40-50lbs so far despite a couple injuries sidelining me from the working out part for quite a bit. Still keeping at it, though, as I'd like for my weight to reach an even lower target.

Chest day, 9 sets of bench press 3 different bench levels. I usually do butterflies too, but I had to do some Motorcycle and Car maintenance.

I'm 51, 5'11" 180lbs. Smith Machine and free weights in the garage.

Started weightlifting again in November last year... Trying to get back to my old physique to 14% body fat...

I usually do full-body workout regimen... 5 minutes stretching with a resistance band... Hit the chest with flat, incline and decline dumbbell bench press (10 reps for 4 sets each)... I don't do bench dumbbell chest fly due to the risk of tearing the pectoral muscle if you made a mistake...substitute it with floor presses...

Crush grip dumbbell squat is a killer... (70-lb for 12 reps x 5 sets).. much better than goblet squat in my opinion...

Dumbbell pull up... 40-lb dumbbell ... 12x4

Can't do forward lunges due to bad left knee.... does reverse lunges instead... (Pair of 50-lb dumbbells 12 reps x 4 sets)

Avoided leg extension at all cost...

Weighted calf raises.... 10 reps x 4

Weighted sit ups to hit the lower abs .... 10reps x 3

And most important... Proper nutrition and enough sleep...

I’ve been horribly sidelined by a case of elbow tennis that just won’t stop. The wraps, ice applications, creams, balms, lotions, ointments, rubs, and poultices aren’t helping me heal.

I’m heavily modifying my workouts, and it’s very frustrating.

Anyone here have some tips or solutions that have worked?

I went through the same problem. Not much you can do but rest it. After a period of rest I started back with very minuscule weights with lots of reps, each week adding a couple of pounds. But ya, its a pain. Hit the bike more and work the legs more in the meantime.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. After about two months it has finally let up a bit, but I’m still running a heavily modified weight program.

You need to get that looked up by an orthopedic specialist to determine how much damage on the elbows...

Since we have medical weed in OK now, I have dropped my nightly vodka intake. I also cut back on carbs (not carb-free by all means) and have lost 12 lbs in about 5 weeks without even trying...

Nobody working out over the summer? Love hearing the success stories. I'm 57 now, started working on my body when I was 49 and haven't let my foot off the gas since. Was waiting for my train on Friday, a trip i've been doing for 25 years, when a woman approached me. She said she has seen me on the train for many years and that I looked amazing, as if I hadn't aged a day. That kind of thing happens occasionally and really keeps me motivated!
