Welcome to the forum! I am honeymooning with my 79 Std, and cannot wait to some day own a Custom model. These are great guitars.

10.5lbs with a sparkle finish? Man, that's impressive!

I enjoyed the single shot you placed in the Genesis thread and was thrilled to see a more comprehensive group of photos. She's a knock out! :thumb:

Edit: And congratulations on capturing excellent photographs of a sparkle finish, that really takes some doing. You know how to use a camera, sir!

JFC!, that came up and was gone instantly, even with daily checks I completely missed that one. Altho there are issues beyond the finish that don't appeal to me, I might have jumped on it, just because! Thankfully my black beauty is enroute to anxiously awaiting arms, or I'd be pissed. ebay still delivers the deals!

I think he could have easily sold it for $500 - the headstock repair he noted was just a loose seam that was reglued. Except for the SD pickup it was pretty much unmolested, no broken control cavity and finish was excellent. The buyer got a near-mint condition Custom for $365 shipped with a free SD pickup. That was sweet deal.

PS, I tried to tell you guys!

How deep/serious could that seam seperation be? Have you seen this before, is it a known production flaw?
It was just a standard head stock glue joint above the volute like you see on lots of modern guitars. Barely worth mentioning.
