Yeah thats nice! I am looking for a 74 or earlier Tobaccoburst or Goldtop. Unfortunately that seems to be the going thing on Ebay these days, list a bin price way above market value and have the best offer option.

Get ready to lose your lunch. I sold this '74 Standard for $1500 (I think) three years ago. UPS busted the headstock in shipping. I got it back and repaired it, then sold it again for $900. So yeah, $2800 seems steep.

And before I hear any whining, I tried to sell it here first.

There's a 74 Gold Top at the GC in Arvada, CO for 3300.00 that is super clean. I was looking at it today. They have a vintage section now with some really cool stuff.

Out of curiosity, did UPS make it right for you? They damaged one of mine in 2005 and screwed me despite it being insured, properly packed, etc.,. Really teed me off.

Sorry for thread hijack.

Yes. They did. But...

I was working for a mailhouse at the time that shipped over $250Ka month with UPS. I called our UPS Rep and asked his advice on how to make the insurance claim. AGAIN - THIS WAS NOT WORK RELATED.

I went to lunch and when I returned, the guitar was on my desk along with a check for the $1500 I had insured it for. I was gone less tan an hour.

Your mileage may very.

And I still have the guitar!

Whoa... talk about a necro-answer! This might be a record. I've seen necro-bumps before, but never one where the OP hopped in after ten years and answered an open question!
