Yes, it is a 71/72. Gibson made a limited run of these. Supposed to be a 50's reissue I think. It left the factory with P-90's. Seem like they are pretty decent guitars. Wish it had the long tenon.

Trans tenon is still pretty damn good - considering everything else that this thing is sporting!

I was under the impression that by the beginning of '70 all bodies were pancaked - this GT is a '71 w/ a one piece? Juts curious about if this is really a '71 and if so how many are out there w/ the one piece bodies? Was this a reissue? Small headstock? No volute? Wrap bridge? It is trans tenon...

Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Sixth Version 1971 - eBay (item 260245129085 end time Jun-06-08 18:12:00 PDT)

I think it is a 1958 reissue. I have seen a few of them on ebay; similar to the reissue of the 1956 (I think) LP Custom reissue in 1972.

Do you think its worth that w/out the PAF's (did it have them?) and w/ the Grovers?

So much has been changed on this one....might as well get an unmolested deluxe and call it a day.
