Hey there

As I see prices all over the place for a 68 GT, I though I`d ask you guys.

How much would a 68 Goldtop be worth? It has a refinished top in gold and newer tuners, otherwise it seems original.

Thanks,

heja Norge ! :thumb:
It depends on which country the guitar is for sale in.... and if it is shop or private sale.
If you give more info on the particular guitar incl price we could relate to that for starters.
I am no expert, but have bought a refin 57 Strat once.
I would say a body refin subtracts 30 - 50 % of the price.

Just tons of variables to your question. Each guitar is unique , the type, and amount of restoration done . Quality and by whom also can be factored in.

Think you might want to post a link or pictures to get a better answer.:)

Hey Danmark ;)

I asked the seller (its for sale here in Norway, private sale) about the price, and he was asking around 16500 in usd so I guess it`s out of the question anyway. Way too high asking price imo!

I`ve also thought that a refin subtracts around 50% of the price.

thanks

That's a top quality guitar price for sure. , surely not a serious price for a refin.:shock

He can ask what ever he wants . Selling it is another matter.

The selling price, not the asking price...bide your time.

That is stone-crazy money man! I'll have an early '68 LP Standard with a very old Sunburst top only refin and pro humbucker conversion coming up in 3-4 weeks (done by the infamous Dick Knight in the late '70s no less) so drop me a PM :)

Agreed Greg. But his price is firm. I guess he won`t be selling it ;)
