Price is optimistic, yes. But you can always come down. Hard to go up in negotiation.

Yeah, I think everyone needs to put CME and Burt's Place on their list of places to visit when coming to Chicago :applause:

And yes, overly, overly optimistic regarding pricing :wow:

Would anyone be bold enough to post what they think is a fair price? I read the other thread and if I am not confused seems like it was originally listed for $245,000 and didn't sell.

When did '0s suddenly become equal to '9s? It had to happen on the internet.

It used to be you opened the case and everyone looked like they smelled a fart. "Awwww..." (drops arms and walks away) same with 58s.. one glance at the serial and "Better luck next time, bro.".

Either price is unrealistic , IMO , OMMV. :slash:

245K is all the money the other price is off the charts high for a '60 , IMO ,OMMV.

Thinking more in 225K range , who knows? Asking over 200K for any guitar is really , really a huge amount of money , where I live one can a nice home in that price range.

'Burst can be bought for under 200K in todays market and get a lot of 'burst too boot for that loot.

that 0 and the clown face are an instant 50% hit in the days of yore.

I certainly don't mind my '60. It's a fine guitar and about $100,000 or more less than a flamey '59. And I don't care much for uber flame tops.

Great looking piece and we know it's a great player too. It's got the neck of love.

Well, if you want a replaced neck, broken headstock, missing serial #, etc etc, you can find them cheaper. But I haven't seen one without issues under 200.

Most of the ones on that website are now gone. The ones left that are under 200k have problems. I know of: missing serial numbers, replaced neck, cracked headstocks, bigsby holes, etc.

IMHO, My '60 is worth well under $200,000 and the only issue is changed tuner holes. Originals are back on.
But it is priceless to me.I love that guitar and it will go to the grave with me.
I still play out with it. It is on page 2 of Burst Believers II book.

Know for a fact one can buy a nice 'burst with little to no "issues" for under 200K.

It my be a "plain top" with little to no flame or movement and not have the "magic" 59 serial number.

They don't have "missing serial numbers" or "replaced necks" from what I'v seen for them to qualify as a 'burst under 200K. Maybe you don't know or understand the market as well as you think or might believe.

There really is no argument to make about that fact. If you think there is , you need to learn more about the current market and these guitars.
