No, just like there is a year 1 BC and a year 1 AD, but no year 0. Just like the last year of the last Millenium was 2000 NOT 1999. The last year of the 50s decade was 1960 NOT 1959. When you measure, you start with 0, when you count you start with 1.

That's actually a good question. I have known of some years' numbers beginning with SN# "0". But I'm pretty sure for this run, they began with "1" and ended at "500".

Yeah, it is nice. It's 2004.
I was trying to get a 2003 Stinger from Music Machine, but the last one sold from under my feet.
So I saw this one, and I thought I'd take a chance, turned out to be a really nice piece of kit.
So, does anyone know of a 9 9000, and is it a 50th.

335, that's hysterical (pun intended)! The reason I mentioned above that I know that there have been SN# "0" is as follows...

Back in '04, I bought my first Historic. I thought it was really cool that I managed to get #9 4001, thinking it was the first one made that year. I found out later that there was a number 9 4000, which as it turns out is yours. I ended up eventually selling mine, but not because of the number thing...I just didn't bond with it. Did you get yours from Vintage World? Or did you get it second hand?

What a small world. I bought it new, from the States (I'm in the UK) from an online dealer, but I can't remember which one. I pretty sure they had 9 4001 as well, so it probably was the same place.

if 9 9000 or 9 9001 is #1 then it's not possible for this one to be #1, it would still be very low in the numbers though.

I don't think they put a serial number on their prototypes. I could be wrong. But, the COA's on the the 50th ann. have just a serial number. I thought that the numbers from 1 to 500 would be the correct order. Does anyone own a 50th Ann. with a the last numbers reaching over 500? That would put an end to this if we knew. I have yet to see it.

I posted this because of the above quote, not to try to make a sale. The certificate with this guitar says: "Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Golden Orange Tea Burst 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue. The instrument, bearing the serial number above, is 1 of a 25 instrument limited edition run produced as a tribute to the 50th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Standard. Your guitar has been handcrafted", yadda yadda, etc. If I've presented the wrong guitar on the wrong topic, please excuse the intrusion.
