Hi everyone!

Occasional poster here - I wrote quite a few times over the past year after going down the Les Paul rabbit-hole (ha ha) and acquiring 7 Les Pauls in 12 months.

It's been an awesome ride, and I still love doing research and learning about all the different finishes. I got a bit burned-out the last few months as I've found them expensive to acquire a few finishes I'd really like (Honeyburst, Dirty Lemon, Iced Tea, etc...) and difficult to sell on the 2nd hand market in order to raise funds to find a new one.

Happily I came across a stunning top in my travels that I was so excited to own. It's listed as a 2021 Limited Run (or Exclusive Finish) AAA Top, but I see a few stores had them (Sweetwater, Long and McQuade) so I'm not so sure about the exclusivity...?

That being said, they vary quite a bit in the flame.
I just love the workmanship and playability of a Gibson, and I'm so pleased to finally get a top that checks all the right boxes for me finish-wise. :)

Thanks! Yes, I went a bit crazy trying to satisfy some colors choices I wanted. I've slimmed it down to 4 now, and trying to sell one currently. It's been sobering realizing how little people want to pay (grr) so I've been researching having it refinished in a dirty green/lemon. That will be an entire other post! Lol

Holy mackerel! That's the most r9-looking USA model I think I've ever seen.

It's gorgeous. Would covet that, without a doubt. Congratulations!

Ha ha. Well, it comes at a cost!
I've learned to be careful what you pay (not great resell value), but if you see what you like, just do it.

I can't enjoy them when I'm dead!

And now, with every post I read (and any pictures I see) I have slowly been working my tastes down to a fine selection.

@iluvchiclets So, I just gotta ask… what’s that beauty weigh in at? ;)
I'm not sure? For me, personally, weight does not factor into my buying a guitar - but I'll have to weigh it sometime...

(To be honest, I have never, ever heard of weighing guitars until I started reading on forums about Les Pauls.)

Dangit....I wish I knew I would have snagged one, or tried my darnedest to.
They're still out there! At least I assume they are? This one was traded in at my local music store. I wasn't even sure what model/year it was, I just knew it had a color combination I liked. And the maple figuring sure helped too...!

I have a squirrelly neck and shoulders from no less than 3 car accidents (none of which were my fault)… and so beefy LPs (or any guitar) just don’t last long in my stable. About 9.5lbs is my limit and I bitch and moan about those! Ha!!!

I just snagged a 60s Standard Unburst a couple weeks ago that’s only 8.47lbs. Perfection! Luckily it looks and sounds as good as it weighs. ;)

And that R9 I posted earlier is only 8.24lbs. :)
