50's slim taper neck on the Traditional Pro II?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me about the neck profile on the Traditional Pro II models? It's advertised as "50's slim taper" which I thought was a typo at first. Apparently it's something different from a rounded 50's profile, but still thicker than a 60's. I'm thinking about getting one of these but won't be able to try it before I buy. Does anyone have 1st and 12th fret measurements for this profile, or can anyone tell me how it would compare to the 50's neck on my 2012 Traditional Plus? Thanks.

There's no such thing. It's either 50s neck or 60s slim-taper, depending on the color of the Trad Pro II. The ad guy just did 'find and replace'.

It's the heritage cherry model. Can anyone who has one of these tell me what type of neck it has? The R7 and R8 models I've tried are too big for me to play comfortably. I'm hoping this one is thick, but not quite that bulky. All the literature says "50's slim taper", while some of the other colors specifically say 60's. Thanks.

Heritage Cherry is 50s neck. It's not as fat as R7/8. I just played a Goldtop Trad Pro II yesterday which has the same 50s neck. I prefer 60s neck myself but that 50s neck was quite okay for me.

I haven't measured mine yet. But it feels real close to the U shape on my Hotrod which is about .93 at the first fret and .98 at the 12th. Very comfy.

to me it feels just like the 50's neck on my 2000 standard, which I would guess it like a 59 neck, it falls kinda right in between the big fat 50's and the slim taper 60's.

To me it is actually the perfect neck contour.

I have a 2013 Gibson Trad Pro II 50's neck. Profile at 1st fret is .818" and on the 12th fret .963". For comparison the trad pro II 60s neck is .800 at the 1st fret and .875 at the 12th.

I have a 60's and 50's neck Trad Pro 11

Its not bulky by any description and fits the hand really nice.

The comparison between the both whilst noticeable is not worlds apart.

Having owned a 2014 Traditional and a Bonamassa..those necks are on a totally different level of 50's style thickness.

Thanks everyone. It looks like I'm the proud new owner of one of these, I got Guitar Center to match the $300 discount that Musician's Friend was offering for President's Day. I sorted through the platinum room listings and picked the one with the best top that was under 9 pounds. It sounds like the neck will be a good fit for my hands.

Guess, Gibson plays around with renaming things again, possibly they mean '59 nowadays when they call it '50th..
My Studio has a '59 rounded neck, my Dc a '59 slim tapered one. Both are comfortable, slightly different on the shoulders, but very similar from measurements..

I currently have a 2014 Trad Pro II 50's and the neck isn't thick to me at all. Not thin either, but it's definitely not an R8 or the 2015 Traditional (which I absolutely love... Louisville Slugger all the way!).
