335 vs. 345

345 or 355 for me..
I like block or split block inlays…
355 has the inlayed custom, bound headstock

i am saving for a 355..
335 is perfect guitar…I simply like the shiny bits and whacky dial

No contest! Hands-down an ES-335 from 1958 to early '65 w/ wide nut.... is my preferred Gibson semi-hollowbody electric.

Sorry, but the unsightly, corroded gold hardware, 6-way varitone, stereo output ....featured on the majority of ES-345s and ES-355s..... just doesn't do it for me.

ES-345 for me! I don't use the Varitone much, but the stereo wiring is so cool, that I'd never re-wire mine.

i looked at some photos of a recent 345 and it sure looked like a nashville bridge. ist that true? gibson site says abr-1 one but i want to know now.

also the bastards still downgrade the standard model with black painted edges in the f holes. more labor effort just to make the purists turn to the custom shop line.. sad.

I love the blocks or the split diamonds. Think the dot´s doesn´t make the guitar it´s justice.

Well, I like dots better than the small 335 blocks, I like the small 335 blocks better than the large 355, blocks, and I like the split parallelograms a lot better than dots - but none of them come close to my Sheraton's MOP blocks with abalone wedges!

I think the recent 345 is a punch in the face to 345 lovers. It’s more like a semi original mix for 335 players who dig the split parallelogram inlays. Why chrome hardware??? No Varitone? Just wrong..

I had to wait for a used Freddie King to show up to get Mickey Mouse ears, the extra hardware and Varitone.

The current production model is a joke for people who like the traditional specs.

I was just about to accept it because i realized that vintage lovers like me would change almost every part anyway.. but when i found out that they silently changed the bridge to a new system with nashville style posts it really made me sick. specs on the site say „abr-1 bridge“. did they think nobody will notice?
