My understanding of the logic behind the non-use of Nuclear devices is simple, ie;

We have far more WMD than you do, we're not using them because that would be a crime against mankind, therefore YOU can't use yours either! and if you do we will retaliate with extreme prejudice, etc.

You know setting a good example as well as taking the moral high ground, or am I wrong?
