3 Way Switch Question

I am thinking of pulling the neck pickup out of a Les Paul Special, leaving the P90 in the bridge spot.

I'd like to use the 3 way switch positions to allow ---Switch down-pup/volume/tone/jack

Switch center- kill/off

Switch up- pup/straight to jack

If it's possible to do that, is there a name for that wiring ?

Not with the existing switch. You would need a DPDT on/on/on toggle to do so.

Not the way the conventional switch is built.
You could do 1 and 3, but "2" would do both, meaning tone would be in the circuit, as would be the volume pot.... but the volume pot would be connected on both sides and I'm not sure how it would react.

I was thinking it might be possible with the LP Custom switch, but even there, the middle position makes the same connection it does in the bridge position, and just adds another connection:

Will have to think about this one....

This is as close as I can get you with a standard switch.
It gets you the blow switch and kill switch, but the volume control is not conventional, so you may have to play with the value and taper.

Ok, thanks. I'll study that last diagram a bit.

I was also thinking I could add a 3 way on/off/on mini toggle to send the p/up to the jack or pots. I guess that would leave me with two kill switches. Probably not a good solution though.

Or replace one of the pots with a push-push and wire that as the blow switch, use the original toggle as the kill switch.
That avoid any extra holes in the body so the mod can be reversed if you sell.

Thanks, that sounds like it will work and will be pretty simple too.
