Map of population growth (percentage annual). There is a rough correlation between infant mortality and population growth. The less affluent a society, generally the higher the birth rate - need a lot of hands to support parents into old age.

That's the trouble with exponential growth, it does tend to accelerate. 1.5% annual = doubling every 50 years.

with modern medicine more babies and women survive child birth. early premature babies in the 1900s didnt make it. Antibiotics, modern medicine, life support.

And with the winter we are having in North America , I'd say a good percentage of those Millions are starting to Migrate South. NOW. Calls of service have tripled here in the last 3-4 months. Better get to a restaurant by 4:30 if you want to eat within an hour wait. 2-3 yrs ago your house could sit for a year without an offer........now homes are selling in a morning. :shock:
