Just got a new SG Standard '61. Does anyone know if Gibson glues the frets in on these? And if so, what kind of glue is used?

Thanks!

I believe Gibson wipes hide glue into the slots before putting in the frets. If you are going to remove the frets, Dan Erlewine recommends heating them with a soldering iron to break the bond if you are going to pull them out.

It's brand new, not pulling the frets. Plan is to have my luthier wick in CA glue if Gibson isn't gluing them in. Unnecessary if they use fish glue...just need confirmation.

Tone tap all of the frets. If you hear dead spots anywhere then wick glue in. Otherwise I woudln't worry about it.
