I tend to agree with the OP. Mostly mediocre stylings. The only one showing any
guts is the new Corvette and I have only seen photos so far; not one in person yet.

It is the first Corvette style, since the Sting Ray design, that has shown any semblance
of style; yet the new one took a lot of inspiration from the Europe.
it looks better in person than it does in the pics.

The fugly is relative to the buyer.....

I remember buying a car in 1998. At the time, Dodge (of all things) had the best looking cars across the board, from small to large cars. And they were ugly.

1997-2003 Dodge Dakota is one of my favorite trucks take a 3.9 , 5.2 or a 5.9 and match to a 5 speed manual...they'll run forever.

Perfect size/great body style.....

Yeah, but each and every one was a shitbox. I had a Grand Caravan and it still makes me shudder to think about how bad it was. Ask me about the second transmission I had to replace. I will never buy another Chrysler.

As someone in IT who hates high tech in cars, my plan is to buy several old cars of the same make/model that have style & some good aftermarker support.

Make one kick ass driver while the others wait to be cannibalized for parts.

Touch screens & associated BS? How 'bout No.

A '65 Buick Riviera restomod that can roll on for decades? Yes please.
I'm with you. This is my other car, coming out of storage this week.

Trying to talk my wife into going the the Mercedes dealer today. Of all the SUVs I've looked at, I like the GLB the best (for my wife, not me). She likes the looks of it, but isn't convinced we should buy one. We're going to buy her something in the next year or two, so I figure now will be the best deals.

I will take your word for it, but will never know for myself. One shitbox is enough to swear me off forever.

My 1st Dakota...2000 SLT....3.9 V6.....5 speed.....4wd.....ran ...with full glass rack on it , for 397,000 miles and was still running strong when my son wrecked it.

My current main work truck is a 2002 Dakota SXT 3.9 V6....5 speed...4wd.
It has full glass rack as well and is at 248,5000 miles now....no major repairs at all.
Still going very strong......

I also have 1993 Toyota Pickup with the legendary 22 R motor , extra leaf spring and air shocks ....as my back up work truck......that thing is a sensitive and slightly expensive to repair turd in comparison to my 3.9 Dodges.....

I did have a 3rd Dakota......w/glass rack etc....2000 SLT 4.7-V8....auto...2wd
Now that truck was complete POS in every way......tranny,mototr,electronics etc...turd........all of the Dakota's sporting the 4.7 V8 or 3.7 V6 are pretty much junk....especially if paired with automatic transmission.

I went through that with Ford. Only after the transmission was done twice did they admit that it was a manufacturing defect. Been in business over 100 years, still can’t build a car right. Ford can cease to exist, I’m through with them.

Toyota is schizophrenic... it's like they have two different designers, and one is absolutely batshit crazy.
The cars, for the most part, are pretty good, except maybe the Avalon XSE, that front end looks like Legos.
The trucks and SUVs.... not so much.

But at least the build quality is still there. 100k on my '16 Corolla and not a single problem with it.

I have no problem using "Toyota" and "quality" in the same sentence.
