No original Kluson tuner screw holes.

Can't be a replica of a '59 without them.....those are '70s style Gibson branded Schaller's didn't make them in 1959....where are the damn holes??

Unless this is a replica of an artists 1959 that was re-necked in the '70s it should have Kluson tuner crimp marks on the finish and 12 extra holes. This was done with CCs....and these are supposed to be better?

Fail.

I think it is a Chibson. ick.

I don't think it's a Chibson,... but it is Chibson "like" mistake.

I don't think Tom Murphy would have missed this,...or any of the guys that made the Collector Choice guitars.

Murphy Lab Rats aren't up to speed......they go through all the trouble to make it look 60+ years old but don't know the history of the original.

I think this was a M2M that got cut for some reason and ended in the "Lab" for repurposing..... just a little detail a pro would have caught.

But the price is a bit insulting....as you're paying for the extra attention added to the M2M costs.

I was just joking.

But yes some jack-asses are trying to pull a fast one. On a 60th Les Paul I would not touch that one. 90% of them had better tops.

Like this one for example.....$5k vs $12k....Murphy can kiss my left nut...not the right one that is for my wife but the left one yes Tom kiss my nut. I own a belt sander too you know.

P.S. For the guitar above I can burn the finish off the back with my belt sander and put crappy tuners on it all for a mere $11,995. Please let me know if interested.

Please tell us more about your ‘59 reissue - it sounds really interesting.

There was a thread very recently in which we were discussing whether or not M2M could do the special Page #1 neck carve if requested...

Sure, it's a '59 M2M with some Page appointments as you can see - orange sunset burst, removed bridge cover, gold Grovers, number one elliptical neck profile. Doesn't have any push/pull pots though or any custom pickups according to specs. The quartersawn top with super straight grain isn't Page-ish at all, but I liked it nonetheless. I have some '60s gold milkbottle Grovers I might put on it though. It's been years since I've played a No1 reissue, but this neck feels as I remember even though I can't say exactly how well they replicated it.

Very nice! Thank you for the info.

I would also be interested to know what year it was made, and if you ordered it through M2M yourself or bought it from a retailer who ordered those features from Gibson.

Yea they get some cool M2Ms now and then, and they actually have one on their site right now with similar specs but VOS and more typical top.
