Just gorgeous, congrats. As far as those "flaws" go, I'll defer to the wisdom of one of rock's most esteemed Burst players:

This vintage cherry burst looks almost like the perfect bourbon burst. Very beautiful.

Friend, what frets are you using (exact measurements) in your Gibson Historic 2018?

Small flaws aside, this looks to be a fantastic reissue model - that finish is wonderful, and I'm glad you've got one that sings and plays that's in tune with you. Enjoy, and congratulations!

it's a Reissue. I'd have to look really hard to notice the inlay, and I have a 2004 '59 RI aged that looks similar - but Murphy aged - and the fingerboard binding bleeds all over - I think it's "period correct"! It also plays like a dream and sounds just like the best Les Paul I have ever heard...
Happy NGD!!!

The cherry burst on this one looks great! HNGD!
But I tend to dislike the other color options they introduced. The colors alone are good but the fades are hit and miss at best. Most of them look just wrong and not like a faded burst at all.

I agree. I like the other color options but the fade gets me. The royal teaburst looks killer if they do the fade right, but I've seen a few that were just off... I'm loving the vintage cherry, looks almost bourbon in some lights, very cherry in others. Its a very dynamic yet classic looking finish.

I might just be me but doesn’t the new Vintage Cherry look different to the True Historic Vintage Cherry, which — as far as I see it — was darker at the outer rim. Nearly a three-color burst. Now it’s more like a two-tone thing.

It depends on the lighting. Here is mine. You can see how its darker at the edges, lightens as it move in, and then the amber middle. I think it is pretty close to the TH vintage cherry. I have seen some 2018 in VCS that did look more two-toned. I think it just depends on the paint job.

WOW! This is exactly what I would want! Thanks for taking the time to upload the additional picture. That really helps to put it in perspective.

I see: My suspicion about the color probably came from ignorance. I have not seen more than 5 Vintage Cherry 2018s.

Here are a couple more to illustrate how lighting can affect how the guitar looks. The one currently up on MGL looks more two-toned, so it does seem that it's going to vary from guitar to guitar.

I bought this R0 a few months back.
What a great guitar, light under 8 pounds,
Got no complaints.

It's tough to say what warrants a return. Probably if I thought any of the flaws were going to cause more problems down the road. Sound and playability carry far more weight with me. The 6.5 may be a little harsh but its a reflection of what I expect from the Custom Shop. I wouldn't even think twice about the same flaws on a USA shop guitar. In the end, its a dynamic determination. A 6.5 on QC combined with a 7 or 8 on playability and sound and I might have shipped it right back. But this thing is 10's in pretty much every other way imaginable.

BTW, I have a Artist Grade PRS Tremonti and it also has something white stuck under the finish coat. And that is a blackish finish so its far more noticable.

NO THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! PRS has flaws too! LOL. Nice guitar OP! Great color, and the "flaws" seem like nothing that will have any impact on playability.
