Last night was NGD in my house and I finally joined the ranks of Les Paul owners. I dove right in with a Custom Modern Standard I found at a great shop, though they are more known for high-end PRS. A few checks on the back of the headstock and one near the switch, but the neck felt great in fitting my hand and at 8 lbs I am very happy with the weight and balance.

I love them both. That trans-metal is different. I like that quite lot.

Like so many, I was looking for a burst and actually had found a tr-burst I really liked - though normally I don't care for the tris that much. I was on the fence between the 2, especially given that this one has a bit of checking, but after playing it my decision was made.

I, too, like the volute, which performs a positive function. I'm one of the few who can't abide Pelham Blue in transparent applications, but the majority love that look, and this one's really tasetful. That appears to be a genuinely fine guitar, and if it plays well, as you say, well -- party time. Nice find.

Thank you. I have to admit that when I picked it up I thought the apex headstock was really interesting. One of the things that made me decide to go this route as opposed to a burst USA standard.
