Trying to find more info on my custom, I bought it used serial is cs 6xxxxx. It has a 3 piece neck which i thought is odd but i'm a noob so maybe someone can shed some light. I know it is a 3 piece because it has 2 line on back of neck where finish has settled. Anyway are these anything special or was that standard that year? I found other ones online of that year and it says one piece neck. the guitar sounds great has a certain amount of punch and brightness not dark like another custom ebony i have. weighs 9.6 lbs previous owner had a dirty fingers in the bridge and a classic 57 in the neck and i am pretty happy with those kinda have to dial back the volume on the dirty fingers but i can turn it down almost to 3 or 4 and it still sounds decent. has the mirror pickguard and poker chip and kidney bean grovers, not sure if they were aftermarket or not. has the richlite fingerboard

here are the specs of a custom I found online of the same year notice the neck says 1 piece
