Another year goes by, and the gaming industry notches a few more big hits. This year's games are a lot more enjoyable and plentiful than 2014. Of course, there were games that one could finish in 2 days, such as Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Fun, but too short for me. Halo 5 was a disappointment for many, due to a shallow campaign mode. Star Wars Battlefront was another cash grab, according to many reviews on Amazon. Still, both games look beautiful, and to some, it is better to look good than to feel good.

Personally, there is only one choice at this stage, and that game is Fallout 4. As I said after the first few days of playing the game, Fallout 4 lacks the grand scope of Fallout New Vegas. It is difficult to craft a story that makes sense to intelligent players (vs. shooters), and over the course of thousands of games, how can any game compare to Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite or Unchartered 2/3? Be happy with what you get, because even though Fallout 4's primary strength is its side quests, they are very memorable. Will we ever forget the faces below?
And, for companions, I could wish for no better than Glory (one of those characters you meet, but can never hook up with).
This winter, there will be plenty left over from the bumper 2015 crop, Tales from the Borderland Episode 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, etc. Did I forget to mention that I have not even opened up my copy of Witcher 3? Don't blame me- the software developers are making their games too challenging, with too many Boss fights. No better example of this was Batman Arkham Knight and the Cobra tanks. I'm getting too old for this hobby, but Fallout 4 gives me hope, because it takes some intelligence (hacking, lock-picking, and strategy) to win this game, not just shooting skills.
