Best thing to do is call Gibson Cust Svcs with the SN and see what model it really is. After you know for sure what model it is then you can tell exactly what's been swapped in/out of it. But clearly, whatever it is, it's been modded (which is not necessarily a bad thing, BTW).

Forgot to mention, I did call yesterday and they said the serial matches for a 2013 Standard in Desert Burst. They said it came with Burstbucker Pros. So everything seems to check out, though still curious why he would go with a Studio setup when a BBPs and a standard PCB wouldn't have been much more than the studio gear.

But in the end, it was good for me, as I got a great standard for a great price. I will upgrade it back to normal over time and will have some studio pickups to drop into my epiphone.

Wow between the 2013 "Alpine white" guitar and now this what are people doing to these guitars in your neck of the woods? Lol

LOL, so true! The Los Angeles area is great for lots of selection, but also some sketchy stuff from time to time. I only posted the ones I was confused about. Have looked at plenty that were described as in excellent condition that weren't and have seen others that were obviously fake. And the most frustrating are those that try to sell you so hard, with all kinds of crazy hyperbole.
