I have one and I think they are Custom Buckers.
Does anyone know what magnets were used ?

Here's how Gibson describes a "regular" VOS R9 CB:
"Gibson new Custom Bucker accurately recreates the original PAFs of the late ’50s, using Alnico III magnets and unequal turns of 42 AWG wire in each coil for that characteristic PAF “bite.” (Gibson doesn't mention that these CB's are potted).

Supposedly, the only difference is Potted vs Unpotted.
I think the custombuckers were all potted (lightly) until 2019. in 2013 they moved from burstbucker to custombucker depending on reissue vs historic respectively so medallion should give it away and what the back looks like. if the cherry back looks like a standard gibson, then it's got burstbuckers, but if it looks like aniline, then historic.

Here is how Gibson describes the CB's in Collectors choice No 11:
"Collector’s Choice™ 1959 Les Paul “Rosie” Made with Alnico III magnets, with coils scatter-wound to accurate specs and left unpotted".

They were potted until 2019.

Where did you get that part about pickups depend based on the back? I thought all 2013s came with CBs. My R7 is the 80th made, so early in the year, and it came with CBs.

Oh I think you’re right. I thought the shift didn’t happen until the middle of 2013

2011 saw Gibson moving away from BBs in some custom runs. Late 2011 thru 2012 saw Gibson in turmoil over rosewood issues. Nothing much else happened with 2012s that I know of.

2013 was a rebirth year going back to aniline dies, hide glue neck set, and new pups (CBs) across the board.

My early Benchmark ‘13 also had CBs.

I’m pretty sure BBs were put to rest in 2012.

2013 are potted CBs and for most of the CS guitars other than Memphis ES 335s etc they loaded these as is today with the unpotted ones from 2019 onwards.

The first use of custom buckers was the 2012 limited darkburst R9. 100 units in this finish.
