My VOS Perry has a new home so I snagged a 13 iced tea R9 on ebay. Great guitar and is giving Goldie a run for her money. they both are so different. The iced tea R9 is warmer but still has a nice sparkle on the top end. Goldie is a brighter guitar due to the pickups and the taller skinnier frets in my opinion. Goldie is easier to play too. The R9 has a more vintage feel..Take a listen..

I like the sound of the 2013 better for sure, but I'm a huge sucker for Goldie Gloss's looks...Shes so darn purtty!!!

Great playing man! Thanks for sharing with us!

They guitars have their own qualities..the Goldie is a more subdued sound almost like a tele. It's a great gigging guitar..I used it on Friday night and was play SRV songs on it. It can pass as a strat/tele in the neck position. The R9 iced tea is more of a rocker and is darker in the neck position..the pickup configuration in Goldie is an odd but cool one..burst bucker 3 in the neck and 1 in the bridge..Cool!

Both sound great and outstanding playing, Peanut!!

I take the Goldie gloss by a slim margin! Nice job on the vid and sweet guitars!

the Goldie is sweet to look at for sure and plays great..the iced tea isn't as pretty but is a monster rock guitar...both awesome. If I had to keep one it would be Goldie. It's just a more versatile guitar for all styles of music..it can easily pass for a single coil guitar.

Yeah I can definitely hear that tele comparison and I actually do dig it, my current pickups kind of have a similar sound as well! I've always loved the BB1 in the bridge and the 2/3 in the neck actually. There's something about those Custom Buckers in the 13' that I really like though. Both are killer!!!
