I bought a 2013 Gibson Les Paul Standard with a Koa top as part of the clearances. I measured the string gauges and came up with 9-11-16-26-36-46. Can anybody confirm that this is a gauge Gibson used for some 2013s?

9's are (I think) pretty much the standard gauge that'll come on a lot of new electric guitars. I'm not too familiar with string gauges, I have the used the same set since I started playing but those numbers sound right.

Honestly what does it matter.

It matters to me whether the guitar I spent $$$ for was new or a return. There was something else that has me wondering that it was a return as well. Wondering if the guitar originally had 10-46s on it.

Measured my 2013 Standard Koa. It measures 9's, the rest of my Les Pauls came with 10's. Fenders come with 9's.

I recently purchased a Studio Deluxe II and it "may" have come with 9's on it. I installed a set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky's (10 - 46 ga.) and they feel a little thicker than the set I just too off of it. The owner's manual states that my guitar came from the factory with 10's, but the "feel" is different with the new ones. Wouldn't be surprised if it came with the "Les Paul Signature" series strings... http://www.gibson.com/jp-jp/Divisions/Gibson Gear/Strings/Legendary Series/LesPaul/

How cool!

Didn't know he used mixed gauges.

That's like the EB hybrid set.

Personally, with my ham handed habits I need an 11

Or I break the "e" too quickly :(
