2013 Gary Moore LP Finish issue

Well, I was oiling the fretboard on my 2013 Gary Moore LP Standard, and I noticed a small finish crack from the nut towards the first fret. Is this something a Nitro touch up pen can fix? I really like this guitar, I hope it's not a major issue. Could be the drastic change in the weather? It feels rough to the touch, and I don't think it was there when I oiled the board last month.
