When my gibby's where having tuning issues it was typically the nut or saddle slots that were the issue. It was pretty easy to diagnose because you could hear the guitar go "tink" every time I tuned the G or B string.

Nut sauce helped, but I still may need to get the slots cut properly.

Graphite makes a mess...Big Bends all the way.

So long as you're not drawing on your guitar, it stays in the slots. :)

+1

The nut sauce is only a band-aid (a good one) and you'll have to re-apply periodically.

The permanent fix is to have a qualified luthier file the slots for you; don't do this yourself....it's pretty easy to "blow" the nut! (and then you'll have white stuff all over the headstock also.....)

Man, I really like my new 2012 LP Studio BUT it doesn't like to stay in tune.
I figured "the strings are new..." I've played it every day for a week, it goes otta tune when I do bends. What up with the standard Gibby tuners? Should I keep trying to break it in some more before I think about new tuners- I hate guitars that can't stay in tune!

Three little words. Bone nut job. Take that any way, in any order, that you like.
