Hello, just for reference here are some pictures, wiring schematic and a short video of a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard PCB. I hope this is helpful to some.

I took the first picture and the last one from other threads, just thought it would be nice to have everything regarding the 2012 Std wiring in the same place for quick reference.

This is the wired PCB inside the cavity

Here is the visible side with pickups, switch and jack unplugged

pcbside2.jpg

This is the other side of the PCB where you can see how it's wired underneath

This is the schematic made by partsmutt (found here)

And finally a video of the two sides of the PCB merged so you can figure out where everything goes:

Please add any information and/or pictures that you feel belongs to this thread.

and sorry if my english is not perfect, I'm not a native speaker.

I am aware some people have changed out the caps to PIO type here, but has anyone seen or converted a 2012 Standard PCB to 50' style wiring?

Also for the guys that have changed caps. Have they noticed any changes with the stock BB pro Pickups?

cheers Ant.

I still don't understand why every guitar doesn't come with non-soldering pickups like this. I would love to be able to switch pickups between guitars every week just for something new.

Mostly because guitar manufacturers don't use quality pots & caps.
I believe if quality parts were used, this would be a very good idea, & people wouldn't be in such a hurry to rip it out & rewire it.
I measured the pots on the pcb of my gibby studio, the tone pots measured in the high 400s, but the volume pots were running in the low 200s.
At the price gibby charges for their guitars, you'd expect to get good electronics, & not have to replace anything, but that ain't the case:hmm:

Yeah, in these PCBs, Gibson has 500K tone pots and 300K volume pots as standard, but like all pots they're not exact and their variance can vary some in either direction.

Gibson seems to be a lot like the American auto industry 20 years ago. "We're American. Buy our crap!"

Has anyone found the correct part for 2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard PCB 5 pin molex connector for the pickups ? Not the toggle switch. If so does it require a crimp tool ?
I'm wanting to replace the PU's but not cut the wires of the stock PAF PUP's it came with.
I have two new Invader pickups I would like to install the connectors on to keep it clean.
Help ...Thanks

Forgive the necropost here, but I'm trying to find out the volume pot value of the 2012 / 2013 LP Standard and ran accross this thread. The post I'm quoting generalizes the PCB pot values but if I'm not mistaken, the volume pot values for the Standard models is now 500K, correct? Can someone please confirm? I know in the past Gibson put 300K volume pots in all guitars, but I think I remember reading somewhere they were upgraded on the Standards starting in 2012.

According to the circuit diagram they're all 500K pots.

You'll want these leads:
06-66-0013 - MOLEX - PICOBLADE CABLE ASSEMBLY, FEMALE-FEMALE, 300MM, RED | Newark element14 US

And plug into these connectors:
51021-0500 Molex | Mouser

Solder the leads to your new pickups, then plug into the circuit board.
