2012 fret board issue??

Has anyone actually heard of an issue with the 2 piece boards? I'm sure someone must have done a re fret on one by now...

Seems there was a lot of concern when the 2012 came out with the 2 piece rosewood fretboard. There was concern about the heating of the frets during a re fret that could de laminate the two pieces. I've searched google and have found lots of theories but no proof of any negatives of the two piece boards. So just curious if anyone has actual seen or heard of an issue

One guy here posted his 2013 LPJ (yes, 2013) has the two-piece board and it practically lifted during a refret. Can't remember who or what the thread was called.

My 335 has "the board." If it ever gives me a problem, it's Historic Makeover time.

Haven`t had a refret, but after almost three years with my 2012 Trad I`ve had zero issues.

No issues! Just needless hysteria! But, that hysteria has brought some deals on 2012 models... I own two! Two of the best gibby's I have owned in 40+ years! Don't be skeered!

A refret after 3 years?? I'd be more concerned with what they made the frets out of and not the board itself.

Had a 2012 LP Standard for 3 years now. No issues with the FB whatsoever.
Beautiful and versatile player.

You only heat the frets slightly......the metal transmits the heat to the immediate surrounding area so you can lift the fret out cleanly. If you applied enough heat to melt the glue all the way through the f/b you would be by definition an operator that had no business doing anything on guitars.
And you'd melt the binding and the finish too.

Worst case is you would have to get a new fret board for a refret, preferably one made of Brazilian rosewood.
