2012 is when I became interested in buying a Les Paul. I was really lusting after the Classic Plus in Blue (Chicago?) but then the 2012 Standards came out and I was won over. I love my Standard but a Classic Plus with 60s neck would have been awesome.

Just joined this forum, since I got this 2012 Classic Custom.
Since I am new to these, can anyone give me some info or pointers?
I understand it has the thinner 60's neck and baked maple board.
Anything I need to do to it?
Is the action/string height set optimally or is this something I need to get done?
Thanks!!!

To be honest,,,, up to now all colours are low in quantity. I was expecting a couple of hundred in each colour.

There were only 250 made in each color. I used to have a wine red CCLP. Sold it. I am surprised I still bought another Gibson after that one. It was a lemon for sure.

Welcome to MLP gfroman!
They do have a 60's neck and a baked maple fretboard.
How your guitar is setup is a preference only you can have. Everybody is different. If you are unable to do it, just take it in to a reputable guitar tech and let them set it how you like it.

Shame it was a lemon, how come you bought it without realising the lemon factor??:hmm:
was it an online purchase or something?
also if you don't mind me asking,,,,,,, where did you get the number 250 of each colour from?

Welcome to mlp. Does your guitar play well? Or does it need a setup like shelbyfreak said?

I ordered mine before they were even released. They had just put them on the Gibson site the day I made the phone call. I waited 6 months for it to be built. I got my info about the amount made from a Gibson source. That was one of the reasons I bought it. I had second in Canada. A friend had the 1st one.

I was watching this one on Ebay and almost bid on it, it's absolutely beautiful. Congrats on the win.

I don't have one but I want one!!!

They are fantastic guitars. I am never parting with mine. When i went to the store to try various guitars,,,, i chose this over a custom shop 335 satin, and various les paul traditionals etc in price range. :applause:

I'm not here to add to the total number of Classic Customs, but just to express how jealous I am - you guys have got some killer guitars, I remember playing one of these and wanting one so bad. Never could find a used one for a decent price though.

^I especially love that gold top!
