PICS TO FOLLOW...

From the Gibson site:
http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/1955-Les-Paul-Custom-Exclusives/Refin-Hot-Mod-Wraptail.aspx

The Custom Refin Hot-Mod 1955 Les Paul Wraptail embodies turning a '55 LP to a '58-60 LP done perfectly, and it even exhibits the only obvious tell-tale sign of such alterations: the slightly off-center seam in the two-piece maple top, which would originally have been hidden beneath an opaque Goldtop finish. This guitar begins with the template of a 1955 Les Paul with solid one-piece lightweight mahogany back and carved maple top, adds the “Refin” element of rich nitrocellulose cherry sunburst finish, gives it the “Hot-Mod” of two BurstBucker humbucking pickups, while retaining its early ’55 “wraptail” bridge, represented by a TonePros wraparound bridge with locking studs and long steel anchors. Add it up, and it’s a bundle of PAF-fired ’Burst tone in your hands.

FEATURES:
• Mahogany body
• Maple top
• Heritage cherry sunburst nitrocellulose finish
• 24-3/4"-scale
• Set-in neck joint
• Mahogany neck
• Soft Shoulder '55 neck profile
• Rosewood fretboard
• 22 frets
• 1-11/16" nut width
• TonePros "Wraptail" one-piece wrapover bridge/tailpiece with long steel anchors and long, locking studs
• Burstbucker 1 neck humbucker
• Burstbucker 2 bridge humbucker
• Volume/Volume/Tone/Tone controls
• 3-way pickup selector
• Kluson tuners

Like new not a scratch on it. The only issues is a stripped screw i discovered while trying to put strap locks on. I haven't removed it yet but can do so before shipping unless new owner wants to do it. I haven't wanted to mess with it. Played VERY little in its life. I purchased about 2 years ago off this site and time to pass it on as I start to go all acoustic. This was far too nice for me so it sat safely in its case. Shipping only to CONUS. NEW PRICE $2650 $3000 PP, shipped and insured...SOLD

One of the greatest runs of guitars the Custom Shop has ever done, IMO. GLWS!

Also would consider trades for Martin HD-28, Collings, Bourgeois, Huss & Dalton with cash also going either way...Prefer to sell but for the right acoustic we could make a deal...

A "I can't believe I am bumping this before the 3rd Nor'Easter in two weeks" bump...Would historic makeovers turn this back into a Goldtop?

I'd be tempted to do something wild like get the back and sides done in worn out gold and re-burst the top -- make it look like an old all-gold that somebody converted decades ago. Pretty cool as-is, though! Humbuckers and a wrap tail is a winning combo.

HM would do just about whatever you want. You would have a lot of great options and if it's a good guitar now, HM would only make it better.

Please don't take this personal and I would never even say this if you hadn't brought up HM, but to my eyes that's a flat out clownburst. It could look soooo much better.

With the light back, which I think looks great(but again, a slightly darker one would kill), a nice tea burst would look great. A goldtop would look fantastic. Blacktop too. Lots of options and it would kill with the wraptail. I would also have them lower the logo to its proper spot.

I hope you don't take my post the wrong way and if I am out of line please tell me and I will delete this.

Regardless of what you do, it's a mighty fine guitar. Nothing beat's a wraptail in my book.

I've been curious about the neck profiles on these, but haven't come across one to try. The description as advertised is intriguing

as to the finish, the point of this version of the series was to mimic gold tops that were converted to bursts, so the style of finish probably mimics that 70s style sunburst on purpose.
