That was an interesting make over. What brand are the strap pins?

Thanks

Is there any way you could provide some info on how to purchase those tailpiece anchors? Those things look amazing. Googled the manufacturers name and only this thread popped up in the search.

cheers

Maybe you could ask Florian Jaeger directly as I think that he orders them directly.
Here is his website:

As for the strap pins, these are just regular dunlop straplock pins. They are really safe..

I really like your band and style. I also like that you play your LP in the middle position with both pups alot. You don't see or hear that often enough.

Congrats on the makeover & great playing & tone...!!

I wonder what a neck joint looks like with hide glue, after its disassembled...:hmm:[/QUOTE]

This is a 53 neck that I steamed out, just some water/hide glue residue: Also notice on vintage LP's the tenon is thicker, no step down at the heel.

1999 R9 neck steamed out. So much tightbond and NO wood touching wood, Pathetic...!!

This is probably how Florian corrected the tenon. Adding piece of mahogany with hot hide glue.

That means that, with modern les pauls, there is no difference between long and short rocker tenon. Both make contact only at their sides

I don't know how the USA LP's are made but for the Custom shop reissue series the tenon is undersized by about 1/32" then use tightbond glue to fill in the gap. That way there's not much to hand fit the neck. Notice how much glue is on the tenon and in the neck pocket. Doing it this way there is no wood touching wood at the most important joint on a Les Paul. This is NOT how any good luthier would fit this joint.

They do it like that in order to set the correct neck angle more freely.
With a CNC machining I don't find it necessary anymore, but anyway the sides alone are a big surface compared to a bolt on neck
