Hello,

Was trying to find info on these guitars but couldn’t find much in terms of specs.

2009 was the production year and it seems to be modelled after a 1959 in lemon burst. Near the shoulder they say 1959 USA. Anytime I try and search it I obviously get directed to an r9 write up. Thank you

The TRC looks different too. If you can, provide some pics of the "1959 USA" you mentioned along with front and back pics of the headstock. You will get this answered much more quickly.

Never seen this model before and there’s like 1 or 2 search results that come up with it but nothing else and it’s limited info. Specs I saw show it has 57’ pups in it.

Yeah, saw it and was very confused by it. The company seems to be legitimate but there’s no paperwork with it, just the case

There's a totally inadequate description, too. Just the "request details from seller" bit. Did you request them? I strongly suspect it didn't leave the factory looking like it does now. Expensive, also :)

I did, I also asked for any photos of the case candy or documentation and this is what they said. I can’t find any reference online of this model, it looks like the epiphone 69 reissue from 2009 but with a Gibson headstock

This item comes with only Hard Case (See the attached pic).
It does not come with Certificate of Authenticity from the beginning.
It is made in 2009 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Les Paul model from 1959.
Based on the specs of the Les Paul Traditional, it features the letters "1959 USA" on the top of the body.

If you have any further questions please let us know.

Thanks and best regards,

I actually spoke with trogly and he was able to provide me with a lot more information on the model. Seems like it maybe a special edition that was sold to certain stores. Essentially a 2009 traditional with a different colour and graphic applied.

I can see that that would make sense - did he suggest which store(s) had these/where they were? The two things I'm struggling to get my head around are (a) that hideous graphic - Gibson aren't exactly known for this sort of thing and the font? and (b) the fact that all of the pictures online (or at least the ones Google's policies let me see) are of exactly the same one instrument. Interesting one, certainly.

He didn’t say exactly but did mention the company that is selling it is similar to a CME or Wildwood in Japan.

I spoke with the company again and they also couldn’t find any information on the model from Gibson but have records of it being like that when they sold it brand new in 2009.
I was also sent the serial number last night and when I run it shows that it was made in May 2009 in Nashville.

That cannot be a 1959 R9 with that serial # and doesn't look like a real ABR 1 but Nashville style bridge.

59 Traditional?

It’s a traditional with a different finish most likely and 57 p/u’s. Says bridge and tail piece were changed

Seems sketchy. I did a google search and found a website called gibsontraditional Looks like someone made a site specifically for that guitar. I cannot find any else on it in. Could be a 2009 traditional but certainly NOT an R9/1959.

I just refuse to believe it's a 59 but if legit, I'm calling Gibson and asking what the hell were they thinking to call it that.

Rant over. Coffee is needed....

I’m a big fan of the Traditionals (’13 Caramel Burst) and highly recommend that site although it seems discontinued in ‘17. Very informative also as to which years of T’s really were non weight relieved.

Just got off of that page and all is legit. No “Taditional “ on the TRC. And even a pic of he official Gibson spec page for it. If memory serves me, T’s were weight relieved from ‘06 or ‘07 thru ‘10 But on the page it does say “unknown” on the Body Type spec. Therefore since these were promoted as ‘59s its highly likely they were one-off n-w-r.
I would be Very interested in these.!

Trogly blowing smoke out his ass again...... His answer is stupid..... he needs to provide what dumbass retailer would request a godawful model.... Gibson might apply a graphic like that to a pickguard but never on the body. Good reason you can't find any others.

Those pickup ring screws look like typical chinese domed heads,... except one.
