Yeah I've been trying to sell my mahogany R7 for 2 weeks for the same money. You must have had one of those secret cocaine filled cases mine didn't come with.

And hence slower to sell, even with the upgraded pickups. That red hog top is a very cool guitar, but it's bound to have a more limited market. This goldtop is a straight production model, and probably more desirable than many because of the dark back and light weight. At least it is to me. For the record--for accuracy--the guitar weighs 9.5 pounds. One pound over the advertised weight. Is that significant? It depends entirely upon what the buyer wants.

There was no intentional misrepresentation on the seller's part here. In fact this is a wonderful guitar, in spectacular condition, and it plays and sounds great! It's just not as advertised, nor what I bargained for or care to own. For someone else it's likely to be a dream come true.

Look, we all know that the Vintage/Historic Les Paul community is a sophisticated market. Everybody has their preferences and prejudices--color of top, amount and type of flame, pickups, weight, it goes on ad infinitum. We judge others' tastes at our peril. There are good reasons to prefer a lighter guitar, and plenty to recommend a heavier one. The bottom line is that a buyer deserves to receive what was advertised and expected. As a seller I honor that without question, taking great pains to document and describe a piece as fairly and accurately as possible. In the rare event there's a discrepancy I make it right. Hopefully we all do the same.

The seller and I will work this out. To avoid wasteful return shipping charges I'm open to shipping directly to a new buyer, if we can figure out payments, refunds, logistics, etc.

I weigh all of my stuff on a digital shipping scale, even then it's sometimes off up to 1 lb. It happens. Having shoulder issues i can understand yet 9.75 isn't that bad, those 11-12 lb one's can get you though.
