For sale is an extremely rare 2008 Gibson Custom Shop Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Historic ’58 Korina Flying V. Only 100 50th Anniversary Flying V’s were ever made and Gibson is no longer using Korina. Period. These are the closest replicas Gibson has made to date to the vintage ’58-’59 models.
This one features a killer looking Korina body and neck and an incredibly figured, dark rosewood fingerboard. The neck is not a baseball bat as some of the others and resembles a comfortable R9 neck.
Includes everything from the factory as pictured, including Original Hardshell Case, Certificate of Authenticity, all Hang Tags, 50th Anniversary truss rod cover, etc. Everything is still sealed. Even the case still has the plastic on the latches.
This Flying V is absolutely in unplayed, pristine, mint condition as it came from the factory, as shown in the photos. The only kicker is some small scuffs at the heel area due to the sloppy fit of the Custom Shop case. It appears that the sliding of the guitar in the case due to the poor fitment has rubbed off some lacquer at the edges of the heel, as I tried to capture in the attached photos. Otherwise, this collectible guitar is in untouched factory condition.
