Gibson Custom Shop Historic Factory Aged 1961 Les Paul (SG) Custom Reissue 2007 Aged Polaris White

The Polaris White finish and gold hardware have been lovingly aged by the master craftsmen at the Gibson Custom Shop. I am the second owner of this guitar. And although the the custom shop hardshell case has been personlized by the original owner, the guitar itself is in similar condition to how it left the factory. The guitar has a Burst Bucker 2 pickup in the bridge position and Burst Bucker 1 pickups in the middle and neck positions. The guitar weighs in at about 8 lbs. and is in excellent condition, with all wear to the finish coming from the Gibson Factory. Seller does not have original custom shop certificate for the guitar.

The following modifications have been made in an effort to improve the guitars playability: Pickups have been wired so that the middle position can be blended into any position. The middle pickup volume is located where the neck tone would normally be found. The bridge tone pot now functions as a master tone. This a common upgrade and allows you to get true neck or bridge position tones and to blend in the middle pickup as desired.

The guitar recently received a level crown and polish to the frets and a replacement Tusq nut, ($260) allowing for effortless playability and improved tuning stability. This is the best aging job on a Gibson SG reissue that I have seen and the reason I purchased it. Only considering selling to fund a vintage SG purchase. Vibrola arm has been replaced with a correctly angled aftermarket arm; I will include original with guitar.

$3650 shipped. About half price of new.

It’s truly a great guitar. The color is spot on to vintage sg customs. A perfect ivory, not yellowed like a lot of them. The checking is consistent with vintage white Gibsons as well. They didn’t fine check like gold tops
