I absolutely love the feel of the neck on my 2006 Epiphone Les Paul Standard.

I'm interested to know does this correspond to what Gibson would consider to be a 50's or a 60's neck?

Would anyone know?

I have sold my Epi Standards. Both were later 2000 models and both had what I would label as a slim neck or what some would label as 60's profile. Post a picture of it. We love to look at guitars

Well I’m not sure, but my 2006 Gibson LP has a 59 neck profile.

I was curious about this, too, for a long time. I have both an ‘06 Epiphone Les Paul Standard and a 2018 ‘59 Reissue, which is supposed to be an accurate representation of a typical ‘59 Les Paul Standard. The Epiphone measures 0.860”/0.920” at the 1st and 12th frets respectively after a fret leveling job. Before the fret level, I’m guessing it was in the neighborhood of 0.870”/0.930” because the way it plays and feels didn’t change much. My ‘59 Reissue measures 0.875”/0.977”. Based on these numbers, I like to think that my ‘06 Epi Les Paul Standard is a good combination of a ‘59 neck around the 1st fret and a ‘60’s neck around the 12th, which is the ideal combination in my opinion. It’s a great-playing guitar all the way up and and down the neck. In terms of the shape of the neck, the ‘06 Epi and the ‘59 Reissue are very similar near the 1st fret. Both are nicely rounded. The ‘59 Reissue might be slightly more V-shaped, but not much. It’s pretty hard to tell them apart in that position. Near the 12th, the Epi’s neck feels less rounded than the ‘59 Reissue’s - probably because it’s noticeably thinner.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your ‘06 Standard. I definitely have and still do. They’re great guitars.
