I have just heard about these 2004 Deluxes available in Ebony, Wine Red, or Gold Top. I can find very little information about them but just ran across one - but found one that I am interested in buying. Its got the minibuckers and everything! Was this a special run GC or MF did? There isn't much out there about them!

This is what I vaguely know and could be wrong (so feel free to correct me):

Gibson had a 30th anniversary run of Deluxes starting in 1999 and running to 2001. In 2002, they stayed in production as a limited MF exclusive to around 2006. They were mostly just plain-top Les Paul Standards with mini-humbuckers available in gold, red, and black (same neck profile and wiring, same case, no volute, etc.). The only real difference between the original 1999 ones and the 2002+ MF ones was a minor binding difference in the cutout, and the 99-01 ones evidently had a "limited edition" sticker on the back of the headstock. So, basically a LP Standard of the day with mini-HB's ... yes, a killer guitar.

I had one in Wine Red. The MF run circa 2004. One of the very best Les Paul's I ever owned. Nice hefty neck, unlike an original 70s deluxe I owned.

Any difference in the neck angles from the early/first production runs?
