I picked up a 2002 Studio Premium Plus from original owner. He hadn't cleaned it often so when I got it cleaned up I was surprised how few scratches it has. The reason I'm posting is because the case it came with. PO said it was the case it came with but I don't think it's the right case for this guitar. It doesn't really matter because I'm keeping it, but I just want to know. I've searched every promising link that comes up and nothing for dating cases that relate to my case. Anyone know what this is? It's got a rectangular hole where a lock used to be, it's got a really thick leather handle, pink interior, and a pink silky cover flap that is sewn in and flips out to expose the guitar.

I'm sharp as a marble. After taking pictures I noticed the "TKL Made in Canada" label, and searching that I found everything I needed to know. I feel dumb...sorry.

If that was the original owner he should remember taking the lock off for sure.
Maybe he forgot the combination or he messed up trying to
change it. By default it was 000 and I've seen many people
screw up trying to change it (with the guitar in the case, often enough...)
and not being able to open it after.
It takes a lot of patience to go through the process of opening it
and most people just couldn't think straight facing the fuckup.

Nice. Those are some very sturdy cases. My 95 LP Studio came in one, one of my favorite cases.

You can find the latch parts on the web. I had to remove and then replace a latch when someone locked up a guitar without knowing the combo.
Beautiful Studio. I've grown to dislike the ugly pinky-cream of the Standard binding, which in its single-ply form is a cheapo move anyhow. I really like the look of the Studios that are clean and radiused rather than bound. The fretboard looks way uneven in color, but that's easy to fix with minimal conditioning. Really nice guitar.

Wow, I used an Audi forum and it was so hostile I haven't used a forum in years. You....players are awesome! Thank you, I definitely feel welcomed. I'll try to clean up those pics in my post. Ya, after I got it cleaned up I could not believe my eyes, it's almost perfect. And it was so disgusting when I got it. I pulled the pickups and the wires have never been cut, there's not one stripped screw, and only one ding, right in between the pickups. The frets have some wear but just polishing them almost made the wear marks disappear. I'm going to just leave it alone, no mods, and keep it in existing condition. Fingers crossed.

This is the exact lock used on many newer Gibson-TKL cases. The hasp is not included.only the lock. (Upper hasp not included). Regarding Rivet Size: I include a set of rivets with this lock that are standard on most Gibson cases.
