Is it possible that Epiphone made some chambered Les Paul?
I have this one since 2003-04, removed the paint on the back, changed PUs, wiring, replaced the bridge with a Piezo.
Last week I was on holidays and I've brought it with me and I've noticed that if You knock on the back it sounds different. so I've thought, ok maybe it has some ''tonal chambering''

here som pics

Nope. That weight is well within the range of non weight relieved LPs. If it was chambered, you would see it in the pickup cavity like my chambered 2007 Ultra.

Nice top on it though. Can you see a maple cap from the pickup cavity. If not it could be an all mahogany body under that nice veneer, which would explain the light weight.

BTW, they weren't really limited editions despite the stamp that can be found on 95% of Epiphone until 2018.

I don't think it is chambered. I think they are rather light woods. Have you seen from the sides how many pieces the leotard is in? I believe there is a veneer on the back.

Leotard ?

It is a multiple piece body with veneer on both sides. Contour being painted dark, he will not see the glued joints. Usually 5 pieces are glued together. Doesn't change a thing tone wise.

Thanks everybody for Your reply.
well Yes, with some light I can see 2 straight lines near the bottom strap-lock, so 3 pieces, at least, glued togheter. Not simmetrically, ...humm looks like this

Anyway; Ok, it's not definetly Chambered, but it looks/sonds like there are some (3?) empty zones.
or it's just my illusion.

I've tried to let You Listen what I mean with this short video..
I don't know, maybe I'm just getting crazy :)

Most probably 5 pieces, three the width of the central one, then narrower ones for the sides. As for the different sounds, it's just different wood densities from one piece to the next.

Now stop looking for things that don't exist and play the damned LP ! :run:
