I suppose this thread has come to an end for me but hope out of the 3.000+ views someone else has picked up the same tips and advice I have from the generous members who offered it, so thanks to all who contributed.
This, for me and my daughter, is the end of one step and on to the next, which is here:

I will be passing on all the tech and general info to her once she's up and running (Christmas Day) and her journey will hopefully continue with the same enthusiasm you have shared for her benefit.
The ES-339 is now resting in its new case, all set up, shiny and waiting to be played, a new NGD Thread will be started once I re do the pics.
Thank you all very much and may Santa bring you as many smiles as my daughter in 8 days.
